Bailey
I adopted Bailey in June of 2009, after getting to know him from PetSmart Glenmont, where I'm a MHHS volunteer. He was surrendered at the age of 6 by his former family, who had moved and were unable to take him. He remained at PetSmart for several months, having no success at being adopted. While there, he had gotten very skinny and I always thought he looked sad - who could blame him? He was a very quiet fella who just wanted to sit close by, but was always passed over for other cats! Like many of the volunteers I couldn't understand why he hadn't found a home, so I decided to adopt him myself! I can't say the adjustment period between Bailey and my other three cats was easy - it had its moments. Thankfully, those have passed, and they have all found their way around each other. Those of you who "knew him when" will surely agree, this is not the same Bailey you once knew. He has blossomed into one beautiful, healthy and very happy boy!
In the first picture Bailey is parked on his favorite rug where he likes to be petted. In the second picture, he's napping between his housemates Liam (who's 3 and in the foreground) and Pip (whom I adopted from MHHS 11 years ago when she was a kitten).
