Bandit and Ryder

In March of 2009 we had been in our new house for about a month. My husband decided we should get a dog. We drove down to MHHS and fell in love with Bandit (black lab/akita mix). We brought him home and he immediately became part of our family. He was a little hyper but very sweet. In December 2009 our second human child was born and Bandit was always right where the baby was.

In January 2012 we decided our family wasn't quite complete yet. We were done having human babies but we needed one more fur baby to add to the mix. We again went to MHHS and brought Bandit with us. Bandit immediately became friends with Koda (who we were told is a rottie/shepherd mix, but we aren't convinced this is true) and we knew we had to bring him home. The only problem was his name. Our five-year-old daughter is Dakota so our new furbaby needed his own unique name. His human sisters decided that Ryder would be a good name for him and he took to it immediately.

Ryder and Bandit can often be found snuggled on the couch together. Bandit keeps Ryder in line and he is learning new tricks from his big brother. Both dogs are great with their human sisters and rarely bark unless they think their family is in danger. Our family is now complete thanks to MHHS!
