Brady
We adopted our Bella in March. We went from greyhounds to a Staffordshire/Pittie mix. Boy, what a difference. She is one of the best dogs we have ever had.
When our eldest greyhound passed away, we noticed Bella was feeling lonely, but we were due to make a huge move from Washington State to New York, so adopting a second dog was out of the question. In September we bought a nice farm and immediately started thinking of getting Bella a play buddy. We went to several meet and greets, submitted applications, everything we could trying to find a perfect match for our family.
Finally we decided, on a Sunday no less, to go straight to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and see what we could find. Adoption has always been our first choice for pets. When we met Brady (used to be Bond), we knew right away this was our new little boy.
My husband has never cut in line, never had the "me first" attitude. The only time in our 10 years together I have seen this behavior was when he saw Bella and again when he saw Brady. Those two times he put on his game face and said "I want that one."
That very day, after Bella and Brady played in the meet-and-greet yard wonderfully together, his name changed to Brady and was welcomed into his fur-ever home with us. It is wonderful watching the two "pups" play together and watch them both learn and discover new things together. These two street dogs are now pampered pets with their very own coat racks, box full of torn-apart stuffed toys and rawhides. They share a food bowl together.at the same time! Piggies...hehe.
Thank you Mohawk for our new family member and Bella thanks you too! (She actually lost a little bit of her belly from playing so much.) I have submitted a picture of my four-legged babies sitting pretty together, waiting for a nibble from me.
