Chance
Hi, everyone! I'm dropping a line to let you know how I'm doing in my new home. When I was with you folks, my name was Jensen. I'm now known as Chance because Mom and Dad came to the shelter the day we met on the "chance" they'd find a close-in-age playmate for my sister Kismet. (She lived with you for a while, too; her name used to be Dotty.) And best of all, everyone thinks we're actual siblings because we look so much alike. I've attached a picture of me and my sister together - everyone says we're perfect bookends.
I was a little afraid when I first got here. This place is pretty big and I was a bit nervous around my new sister at first. It didn't take long for us to become friends and now I'm very happy here. I have a lot of room to run and a sister who's only a month older than me to play with. We still play with Mom and Dad once in a while, but usually we're running, hiding and wrestling with each other or trying to play with the same toy at the same time. Mom says sometimes she thinks the only thing I'm lacking is a pair of horns and a forked tail, but then I climb on her lap and start purring and all is immediately forgiven.
I have a bed with a cozy afghan that I share with my sister. But then she showed me how to get on the big bed, so now we both jump up there and curl up next to Mom and still no one seems to mind.
I had a bit of a tummy issue when I first came here so Mom took me to the vet right away and he gave me some medicine. I didn't like taking it, but I am feeling much better now. In fact, I only weighed 3.2 pounds when I was adopted. Now I'm up to 4.3 pounds and my vet says I'm in excellent health. I'm a very happy kitten!
