Clue Lou
We have had Clue Lou (Fred at the shelter) for the past year and a half, and Rico Suave (Rocco at the shelter) for the past year. They have brought my husband and me a lot of happiness and have helped keep us going. My husband was dianosed with stage four cancer in October of 2009 and the comfort both dogs have brought to us is unbelievable. The dogs both lay with my husband after chemo to make sure he is OK and they are always there to do something silly to put a smile back on my face.
Clue (the Bassett) is a gentle giant who is always after affection and food. We have lost many meals to Clue and his ability to climb onto the counters. Rico is a high-strung lover who wants to spend every day bird-watching and trying to convince the squirrels he just wants to be friends. Both dogs are friendly with our 17-year-old cat and we frequently see all three lined up at their food and water bowls together.
Although I have to admit that these guys are not perfect (we have had many doggie mishaps!), they are always going to be part of the family and they have found their forever home. I have included some pictures, one from when we first got Rico of our then-small 20-pound babies, to now our big 60-pound babies.
Thanks, Kim
