Dewey
Hi, I'm Dewey!
My parents are volunteers at the Mohawk & Hudson Humane Society and sometimes they foster cats or dogs like me, who need a little training before they're ready to find their forever homes! For the first three weeks I lived with my family, I was only a guest dog. They were only supposed to keep me until I learned something called "manners." Well, little did they know I would be completely irresistible and fit in perfectly with their entire family, even their three cats! I love to try and play with them, and I think soon they will even let me cuddle with them for naptime. I also have a big brother dog named Sal. He was also a foster dog, and he never left either. He taught me how to look and act really cute so I could stay too - and it worked! So now I have a forever home, and I'm so happy!
Soon I will be starting obedience class so I can win a prize called "Canine Good Citizen." Thank you to everyone at the Humane Society who took care of me - especially Nancy H., who had to put up with me before I knew how to be a gentleman or learned my manners.
To everyone out there who is thinking about getting a pet, please adopt! There are lots of us who are waiting very patiently for our forever homes. Also, please give a loving pit bull like me a chance. We tend to have a bad reputation, but it's not true. If you come meet any of us at the shelter we will change your mind, I promise!
Thank you, MHHS!
Love, Dewey
