Rudy
We found Rudy (our orange cat) as a kitten on the streets of Schenectady, covered in fleas. After taking him in, giving him a flea bath and taking him for a vet visit for shots and a check-up, we decided he needed a friend to play with. We went to the Menands shelter and my two boys, ages 6 and 11, spent two hours playing with the cats and kittens to be sure they found the right match for Rudy.
We brought Apollo home and, after keeping the two separated for a while, you could tell they could not wait to meet each other. Now, as you can see from the pictures, they can not live without each other. They play and chase each other all day, then take a long nap together in one or the other's basket. It is so funny to watch them lick and clean each other. At night they cuddle up with my boys and keep them company. My husband was never a big cat lover, but they have won his heart over big time.
Everyone at the shelter was very caring and gave us very good information on how to care for our cats. Thank you to all of the volunteers who help with these precious animals. It was so hard to leave there without wanting to take more precious gifts home with us. The love these animals give us is truly amazing!
Thank you for all that you do!
