Hi everyone!
I want to say thank you to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society for everything they did to help me. They found my brother and I when we were only a few months old, wandering around in Albany, with no hair! We were very sick and had mange so badly, we were completely bald with sores all over our bodies. I was so itchy and miserable! But the nice people at the shelter took us in and took great care of us. They found us families to foster us at their houses, so we wouldn't have to stay at the shelter while we weren't feeling well.
After a couple weeks with my foster parents and many medicated baths, I started to feel a lot better. My hair started to grow back, which was great because people stopped looking at me funny. (You can see in one of the pictures, I was a pretty funny-looking guy for a while!) I learned how to sit, lay down, shake hands, and stay. I even fetch sometimes too! As if that wasn't enough, I get along great with their cats (except for one, who hisses at me all the time even though I'm just trying to say hi to her).
I love to go for walks, but sometimes I get tired and then Mom has to carry me all the way home - she falls for that one every time! I also love to go for rides in the car! Kids are my favorite - there are lots of them in my neighborhood and they all love to pet and play with me. So needless to say, my charm was too much for my foster parents to resist, and they decided to keep me forever.
For the Fourth of July, we went camping in the Adirondacks and I had a great time! My grandparents bought me a life jacket to wear, so I could go out in the canoe on the lake. I had so much fun smelling everything, running around, and chewing on pine cones! Here are some pictures of me from our trip. There is also a picture of when I first arrived at their house. You can really see the difference - I was much smaller then, and almost completely bald!
So thank you so much to everyone at the shelter who helped me - especially the kind girls at the desk who were always happy to see me when I went in for check-ups, the vet techs who made me healthy, and Nancy who found me my forever home!
